ITE Hong Kong draws record numbers
The four-day mega MICE and travel show, ITE, took place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre this month, attracting a record number of visitors and exhibitors.
The first two days of ITE (June 15-16), open only to travel trade and MICE professionals, attracted 12,312 visitors, 18 per cent of which were MICE and corporate visitors. The following two days of the show saw 89,750 visitors – up 2.2 per cent and a new record for the event.
In addition to the exhibition, the show also featured the One Belt One Road Conference (held concurrently in ITE this year) as well as some 20 trade seminars, and business matching sessions between sellers and buyers.
ITE 2017 showcased 645 exhibitors, an increase of 6.8 per cent. International exhibitors made up a whopping 85 per cent of all exhibitors and among the 56 exhibiting countries and regions, more than half were from outside of Asia.
New destinations on display included Argentina and Peru from Latin America; Barcelona, Vienna, St. Petersburg from Europe; Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Kenya, Namibia from Africa and the Middle East; Pakistan from South Asia; along with the Maldives, Palau and the Philippines.
Held annually, ITE Hong Kong is organised by TKS Exhibition Services Ltd. and supported by the China National Tourism Administration, Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Macau Government Tourism Office.
