PHD Chamber is organising 11th edition of Punjab International Trade Expo
Buoyed by the overwhelming response to Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) 15, the PHD Chamber is organising a grand 11th edition of the mega fair from 8 to 12 December at Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar.
The five-day much-awaited trade and cultural bonanza, being held in collaboration with the Punjab government as the host state, is part of Chamber’s relentless endeavour to give a booster dose to business activities in the region.
The event has always been supported by Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Shawl Club, Textiles Manufacturers Association (TMA), Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Knitwear Club, Ministry of Food Processing, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), and expect involvement for the first time from Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India.
The mega show would also showcase traditional handicrafts, embroideries, textiles, and electronic equipment of various countries to promote mutual understanding and cooperation on the trade front.
PITEX 15 was able to generate a lot of trade activity which was the need of the hour in order to unlock the tremendous trade and business potential offered by this region. The event witnessed a footfall of over 2.5 lakh visitors. Onyx marble artifacts, textiles from Pakistan, gift items, souvenirs from Ethiopia, Thailand and jewelery from Myanmar were the crowd-pullers.
The second edition of Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) of SAARC nations-an integral part of PITEX-will again be one of the biggest attractions of the event and will immensely help in enhancing the trade ties between the member nations. The RBSM generated business enquiries worth Rs.400 crore last year.
