First China International Import Expo to be held Shanghai on 5-10 Nov’18
In the next five years, China is expected to import US$10 trillion worth of products and services,” said Chenghai, Deputy Director General of China International Import Expo (CIIE) Bureau, while announcing a mega trade event, “CIIE” to be held first time in Shanghai from 5 to 10, November 2018.
In a bid to further support the growth of global trade, China International Import Expo (CIIE) is being organized. The mega expo, to be held at National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, to be spread over a sprawling 59 acre site (240,000 square meters). The CIIE is expected to attract about 150,000 visitors from over 100 countries. Thus, the expo would an important landmark in the continual opening of the Chinese market to the world.
Commenting on the mega event, Chenghai further said: “Being the world’s largest populated country and the second largest economy, it is but natural that China is also the second largest importer and consumer in the world. Thus, hosting CIIE is an effort by the Chinese government to create an open platform where nations and companies from around the world can introduce themselves to the vast Chinese market and explore opportunities for local cooperation.”
According to the Organisers, the CIIE will consist of Country Pavilions for Trade and Investment Area, and the Enterprise and Business Exhibition Area. He said that the Chinese government will provide exhibition space free of charge for all countries joining the Country Pavilion. China will also provide some direct aid and logistical support available for developing countries.
The first “Hongqiao International Trade Forum” will also be part of the CIIE. Countries and regions will be invited to showcase their strengths in the areas of trade and investment, including goods and services, industrial development, investment and tourism,
Numerous products and service will be showcased in the Enterprise and Business Exhibition Area such as: High-end Smart Equipment, Consumer Electronics & Appliances, Apparel, Accessories & Consumer Goods, among many others.
China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, with support from international organizations including the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. It is organized by the CIIE Bureau and National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
