#GED18 Celebration in Mumbai, India to focus on ‘Safety First’
15 May 2018, Mumbai : In an era of celebrating every occasion from Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Yoga Day to Music Day, a dedicated celebration for ‘Exhibitions Day’ is yet unheard of. In a recent announcement by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, the Global Exhibitions Day 2018 (#GED18) will be held on 6 June, 2018 across the world.
The primary aim of this largest awareness campaign for the exhibition and events industry is to uplift the profile of the sector as one of the most vital contributors to economic growth in cities, regions, and countries.
Last year, at the GED17 Mumbai, India celebrations on 7th June, 2017, over 350 professionals from the Indian exhibitions industry gathered at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon to commemorate the common cause and objective of ascertaining exhibition industry’s growth.
Exhibition World in partnership with UFI, recognized GED17 Mumbai activities carried out by the Indian exhibitions industry and acknowledged with the ‘Biggest Scale Physical Activity’ Award. Additionally, GED17 Mumbai was also awarded the ‘Most Creative Activity’ Award.
In continuation of the same spirit of keeping aside business rivalries and differences in association alliances, the congregation of exhibition organizers, venue owners and service providers will once again foster a noble cause of promoting the exhibition industry as a whole to highlight the industry’s strength & unity.
#GED17 Mumbai, India celebrations focused on ‘Need of Industry Status for the exhibitions and trade show industry in India’. This year, #GED18 Mumbai, India celebrations will address an important aspect of the industry i.e. ‘Workplace health and safety’.
Every life is valuable, be it the top-most authority or the labour working on the site. Protection from various hazards, especially during set-up and dismantling needs to be given utmost priority. Material trucks, fork lifts, cranes zooming in and out, construction of booths involve cutting, painting, welding, erection of pillars, the booth electric cabling being of temporary nature are serious threats, to name a few. Stringent deadlines and limited timelines further intensifies the risk.
Therefore, GED18 Mumbai, India will highlight and create awareness in the industry about the importance of following safety rules and measures through the ‘Safety First’ theme. Needless to mention, GED18 Mumbai, India will continue to strive towards achieving the ‘Industry’ status for the Indian exhibitions industry.
Celebrations of GED18 Mumbai, India will commence from 06:00 PM onwards until 10:00 PM in Hall No 3 (Previously known as Hall 6), Bombay Exhibition Centre, Nesco, Goregaon, Mumbai, India.
Professionals from exhibitions, trade fairs, events, weddings and MICE industry are invited to be a part of the celebration, which will be better and grander this year.
After all, GED is dedicated to the white and blue collared professionals from the ‘EXHIBITIONS INDUSTRY’. Join in to cheer and celebrate with colleagues and friends who share the common spirit of one-ness !
