Abu Dhabi hosts PATA Adventure Travel & Responsible Tourism Conference & Mart Conference on 21-23 Feb’18
It sees that there is an urgent need to make the Travel and Tourism not only ‘Adventurous’ but also ‘Responsible.’
So, to empower the professionals in the travel and tourism business with the knowledge and tools to capture the dynamic travel segment, an event titled, the PATA Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart (ATRTCM) 2018, is being organized on 21-23 February at Aloft Al Ain in Abu Dhabi, UAE. ATRTCM 2018 hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
According to the Organisers, the three-day event comprises of a one-day travel trade mart and one-day conference.
ONE-DAY TRAVEL MART: Through pre-matched appointments, visitors can meet face-to-face with adventure product buyers and sellers from across the world including state, regional and local tourism agencies from established and emerging markets, unique accommodation providers and tour operators.
ONE-DAY CONFERENCE: In this conference participants get an opportunity to explore the nuances, trends and dynamics of one of the fastest-growing tourism sectors. The programme brings together international experts at the forefront of the adventure travel industry from both private and public sectors to discuss the sector’s issues and opportunities.
A 1.5-hour drive away from Abu Dhabi city, the venue of the event, Al Ain is one of the world’s oldest permanently inhabited settlements with attractions and activities to suit travellers of all types.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is a membership association working to promote the responsible development of travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region. With past events held in Thimphu (Bhutan), Chiang Rai (Thailand), and Luoyang (China), ATRTCM event each year reflects the growing importance of dispersing tourists to emerging destinations.
According to a research report titled, ‘Global Adventure Tourism Market 2016-2020’, the global market was worth $7.88 trillion. And it is estimated that adventure travel’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) will reach 46% by 2020.
